Memories Circular Mini Album

Hi again friends,

I’m here to show off the Circular Mini Album that I created for one of my best friends of her two littles! They are two of the sweetest kids and she is like a sister to me so creating this was SO much fun!

I’m going to start by with a video showing a flip through of the full album then I will show you the individual sections!

To start, I cut out 4 of the Circular Mini Album base panel from a light gray cardstock and glued them together using liquid adhesive. The tutorial on i-crafter's YouTube channel explains that the little tab should be glued to the bottom of your creased section so the seam doesn't show on your album's pages, I loved this tip because I'm that person who wouldn't realize my error until I was halfway finished with my project! For the project, I used patterned papers from Echo Park, Bo Bunny, My Minds Eye, and Queen & Co. My memory isn't fantastic so I can't say for sure which is which!

The cover of the Circular Mini Album features the kids playing at the beach during a gorgeous sunset. I used bright fun colors that really pop off that gray background. On the tag, I penned "memories" keeping it simple since I don't know exactly when and where each photo was taken. She will be able to fill little journaling cards out that I created for most of the sections. To finish the cover off, I added a few yellow embellishments from Queen & Co. I made sure to use one to cover the tag's hole since I don't like the look of "naked" tags. 

The first section, I played with papers from the My Minds Eye "Wander" Paper Pad (this is honestly the only one I remember for sure!) I knew that this image was from a camping trip and the camper from this pad was just SO perfect for this memory. I positioned the square die so the camper would be the background on one side, then I added the pocket die that I centered over "wild & free". I glued the bottom tab of the pocket to the back of the square to help avoid the journaling card from catching on it when it is taken out or put back in. 

In order to print small enough photos, I used my Sprocket. Then, I used the instant photograph frame to die cut the picture down to size. I used the frame from Mini Album, Divider #2 die set to cut down some vanilla colored cardstock to create a journaling card. I added a second square using the same word patterned paper behind the image. The frame and triangle details used the same paper pad.

This next section is at the beach again! I kept it fairly simple for this section. To the left, I used double-sided removable tape to add a small rectangle cut using a die from Matchbox Stories this will allow for her to journal on the card, then use stronger adhesive to glue it down permanently. I used the vanilla frame that was cut when I created the first journaling card and trimmed two of the corners a bit so I could place is crooked so the background square felt less awkwardly cut. I added the "family" word die over the dark red triangle. 

This next section features her little girl blowing bubbles and was sooooo fun to create! The bubble paper was actually from an underwater paper pad. I mixed it with a pretty pink plaid patterned paper. I added a few Queen & Co. bubble embellishments around the image. 

Opposite the photo, I added "Dream" from the Matchbox Stories die set over the fun bubbles patterned paper. Now, I didn't create a journaling card for this section, but she could add details on the pink plaid triangle if she wanted to!

This next section, I used a winter paper pad to showcase the kids playing in the snow. The journaling card and "happy" are from the Mini Album, Accordion die set. 

I added a few iridescent snowflakes that I purchased from the dollar section of Target years ago around "happy" and the photo.

On the back cover, I had to use this picture of the kids playing in a puddle... is there anything more fun as a kid? The image fit best in the instant photograph frame turned sideways. I didn't care for the heart turned sideways though so I cut out a blue and pink heart and covered the sideways heart with them layered. I used the same blue to cut out "adventure" from the Mini Album, Accordion die set. I finished the album off by adding a few rhinestone rain drops.

Disney Wedding Mini Album

Hello again friends, 

I am here to show off the Mini Album that I created using a the new i-crafter Mini Album Divider #1 set and the Mini Album, Accordion set. I decided to start an album for memories from my best friend’s wedding! It was in Disneyland and was SO magical!

I started with the a sheet from the Echo Park Remember the Magic paper collection, I used the largest die from the Mini Album, Accordion to start the album. The fun vacation foods and accessories made for a fun background. Next, I cut the pocket die from the Mini Album, Accordion set using black cardstock, I added the “Oh happy day” die from Mini Album Divider #1 set to the center of the pocket, and backed that in a nice gray cardstock. Adding the pocket to the front let me slip a few park tickets we had saved from the trip to the front of my album.

The interior pages are the opposite side of the vacation foods and accessories, which happened to be a bright red with white stars. On the left I used the “#” from the Mini Album, Accordion set and the Carly Alphabet dies (which I intentionally placed a bit wonky and whimsical) to write out their wedding hashtag #daddlove2015. I added an embellishment circle from my stash (likely is also Echo Park!) and trimmed the bottom of the circle so that it lined up with the bottom of the page.

For the right side, I printed the first picture of Molly and Evan on their wedding day, I took this at about 5:30 AM that day. (None of us are morning people so that’s kind of a big deal!) The photo was trimmed down and layered on top of the tag that is part of Mini Album Divider #1! The tag was cut out of the Echo Park Wish Upon a Star paper pad and I used a pretty light blue for the grommet. Mini Album Divider #1 has this fun little arrow with a heart, I added it towards the bottom of the photo/tag. To finish these pages, I added a few rhinestone embellishments from my stash!

My last page (so far) I used the actual page die from the Mini Album Divider #1 set cut from Echo Park’s Magical Adventure Paper Pad. In case it’s not already clear… I really love these paper collections and how well they mix and match with one another, and I am a big fan of magical theme parks too! I added the Chevron strip die from Mini Album Divider #1 towards the interior of this page for a fun detail.

For the photo on this page, I added a picture of Molly’s “Disney Bride Crew” that were able to attend the wedding! Molly and Evan invited their guests to “Disneybound” which basically is a casual form of dressing up in the likeness of a character or movie. From left to right, Mindy/Tinkerbell, Diana/Wendy Darling, Renee/Peter Pan, Molly – our beautiful bride, me/Ariel, Christi/Shock (from Nightmare Before Christmas). I used the frame from Mini Divider #2 to trim the photo down, and then used a turquoise cardstock for the frame itself. I used the quadrilateral from Mini Album, Accordion to “scrapbook” on and explain who was in the photo.

I cut the “beautiful” word die from Mini Album Divider #1 out from a red cardstock, but because the paper is so busy, it didn’t stand out well enough, so I added a black layer below it to make it pop. This page was again finished with some rhinestone embellishments from my stash!

Dashed Circles, i-crafter May Release

Hi again friends!

It's i-crafter's Release Day and I am so excited to share the new Dashed Circles dies. This set is super versatile and allows you to use your other i-crafter products (and every other company's products) in even more fun ways! The dies cut dashes on two sides of the cut circle creating a positive and negative space that can be used on your projects. I have 3 cards to show you today with fun ways to create using this great new set.

My first two projects use paper from Echo Park's Perfect Princess paper pad. I have two adorable little girls that are getting a package from me soon and I wanted to include some cards for them. 

The first card, I folded my card base out of a dark gray, and took the die to the very edge of the fold. By placing the cutting circle just over the fold, I was able to cut *almost* a full circle card base. My cutting machine didn't fully cut the bottom circle's dashes, I could have recut or used a shim to help it, but decided that I liked the look and kept it as is.

Next, I picked my patterned papers from the Perfect Princess pad, and die cut two Dashed Circles from it, the larger of the two circles is the princesses, the smaller is a sentiment that says "little girls have a magic of their own, princess." 

I added a medium sized Dashed Circle in a bright yellow to contrast with the gray and create space between the two patterned papers. This was popped-up on a thin foam tape, then the smallest Dashed Circle was added to it. I finished the card with 3 light purple heart embellishments from HAI Supply

The second card, I used the same paper pad, but wanted to show off a few more tricks the Dashed Circles die set can do! I started with a blue-green card base then cut down another piece of the yellow to add on top of that. I cut out various pieces of the patterned paper that I wanted to include. Next, I took a medium sized Dashed Circle die, and added the die one size smaller in the center of it. I cut both of these at the same time, creating a frame for my unicorns (I lined up the outer circle dashes on both the unicorns and the frame) and a back layer for my crowns.

After playing with the layout of the 4 patterns, I turned my attention to the sentiment circle "You're a princess". In order to highlight this circle, I positioned the smallest Dashed Circle die in the top left of the yellow layer, creating a negative space that opened up to the blue-green base. I added foam tap to the back of the sentiment to give it more depth. I finished this card off with some Raspberry DoubleClick Skittles.

My last card is super shiny! I stared with a black card base to make the Holographic Cardstock pop more, in the center of this shiny layer, I used second from the smallest Dashed Circle die and cut a negative space. I used this to line up the location for my Halo Lights. I added the center cut piece of the Holographic Cardstock to help the light reflect upwards more (black tends to absorb light so this helped more go upward.) I also used a metallic blue marker to fill in the rest of the black, thinking I would be using vellum to fill the negative space, which I later decided against.

Next, I cut out 2 partial Dashed Circles from a striped pink cardstock scrap. I grabbed the scraps of my yellow cardstock from earlier and cut out "Shine on" for the top circle, and "like a" for the bottom circle with i-crafter's Carly alphabet dies. For "diamond" and to fill the negative space in the center, I used Light Blue Metallic Paper.

I finished the card off with Diamond Clear Jewels from HAI and by writing in "Push" since I failed to stamp it before I glued everything together! Here is a short video show off card all lit up!

Once Upon A Nap

Hi daydreamers! I've got a few fantastic cards using Kindred Stamps new "Once Upon A Nap" stamp set. I absolutely adore this set and had tons of ideas right away.

I started with the princess and her fairy godmothers. I colored them with Copics, for the princess I colored her twice so I could have her dress change colors. I used a Stampin' Up Flip Card die for the base and back cardstock. Then I layered the left panel with paper from Echo Park's Princess paper pad. I put the green fairy on the blue panel and added a few sequins around her. 

My princess in pink went on the flip, with Wink of Stella to add some glittery magic behind her. I then moved to the right panel and put the pink and blue fairies with sequins around them. My sentiment was stamped in Catherine Pooler "Lime Rickey" ink.  I had a boo-boo to cover up, so I added a few flowers that I punched out of adhesive backed paper. 

Next, I opened the card and added the blue princess backed with blue Wink of Stella for magic. 

I added more paper from the Echo Park Princess paper pad to the back, and white to the other panel for a space to write in.

Next, I used the villain for make a simple, but kinda fantastic card. I colored her in Copics, and added some Nuvo Glossy Drops to the ball and her collar. 

I used a frame die and Gold Mirror Paper from The Stamp Doctor to create a mirror frame. I used Silver Mirror Paper for the mirror surface. I just got the new Stazon Pigment inks and used the purple to stamp on the shiny surface. In order to protect the mirror surface I added a layer of acetate behind the frame. I also used a light grey distress oxide brushed onto the frame to distress and age it a bit.

I finished the card by adding the villain to the bottom right. Simple but awesome right? 

My last card, I used the prince! This guy is dapper and super fun to color. I used the Navy Metallic Paper from The Stamp Doctor for the background. I wanted to create a cloud background so I used the Memory Box Mini Cloud stencil that I picked up from Kraftgali. I used Nuvo Embellishing Mousse in Mother of Pearl and my Stencil Pal from Therm O Web to put the clouds on the cardstock. 

I added a die cut cloud edge to the bottom of the card and stamped my sentiment in the red Stazon Pigment. I finished the card by adding my prince.

THE HORROR!

Hello again,

I have FOUR cards to share with you today using the new Kindred Stamps set "The Horror"! Now I normally don't get "into" the darker side of Halloween, but this set man... it brought my imagination to life.

I started with the murderous clown, it's hard to see with the lighting, but his outfit is colored in light shades of grey and blue. I added accents of red on his hair, shoes, and balloon. I finished him off with some Tonic Glossy drops. 

I added the orange chevron ribbon from American Crafts and mounted the card face onto an orange piece of cardstock. To finish it off, the "You're a scream" sentiment was stamped with Delicata Black ink.

Next, I played with the mummy! This guy is colored in about 12 shades of off-white/tan Copics. I used the Spiderweb stencil from Echo Park with Red VersaFine ink and Black Delicata ink to make my background.

If you know me, you know that I'm not a big fan of tags... they're hard for me to work with! But this one was perfect for this card. I topped it with an Echo Park enamel dot and stamped two of the sentiments in VersaFine Red ink, then I inked up my finger and smudged it around the outside of the tag. 

I backed both the tag and the card face with black card stock. Last, I took Studio Katia Clear Round Drops and colored a few with my black Copic, then placed the black and a few clear drops on the card.

My next card, I featured the pieced together man, AND the new Brick Stencil from Kindred Stamps! I used Distress Oxides in Candied Apple, Vintage Photo, Black Soot, and then softened the blend with Antique Linen to create my background on Kraft paper. 

My monster is colored in shades of green and gray Copics, with a touch of black. I mounted my brick paper onto a piece of Echo Park's Autumn paper stack. 

Again, I went for two sentiment, the built birthday sentiment I stamped in Delicata Black ink, and the "I love you to pieces" is stamped in a dark green VersaFine ink. Both are on banners from an old Stampin' Up kit. I finished the card off in off-white and black Echo Park enamel dots.

My last card, well, it's a labor of the mind! I recently found this house from Stampin' Up and it is kinda the perfect size for my Kindred Stamps people! It is colored with Copics, I then stamped the little walkway, using the rocks from SU set multiple times. My lawn is different shades of green, the sky is black and dark gray Copics. My murder is colored with Copics, and then I added Nuvo Glossy drops on the blood on the knife to make it glisten. 

My sentiment, I got super excited to use a round die for, don't ask me why, I just feel like no sentiments fit on them and got excited this did! Well the big white circle looked weird... so clearly I needed to "murder" it up. I took Catherine Pooler ink in a dark red and smeared my fingerprint across it a few times, then stamped the "Stab you're it" sentiment on it using VersaFine Claire in black. 

Apparently I have a sick mind... who knew!? I hope you enjoyed my take on "The Horror".

Simple but Oh So Fun!

I'm absolutely in love with the Fall release at Beth Duff Designs! It's got a little bit of everything, and it's all so cute!

Today, I'm actually sharing 3 different quick and simple cards, that were super fun to make, with 3 different sets. I will forewarn you my last card does have a cuss word, so if that upsets you, feel free to skip over it!

I started with the new Adventures Abroad - England set, I love this line, and England is a favorite of mine! This set has both large and small images and some great sentiments. 

For my card, I took the small images and using different color Delicata Inks, stamped out a patterned paper of my own. 

Next, I picked a paper from Echo Park's Wish Upon a Star paper pad that looks like newspapers layered. and put it under my homemade patterned paper. I used it to stamp my sentiment out too. I finished the card off with a few rhinestones. 

My second card features Game Time, a football themed set, perfect for back to school, and you know those NFL fans in your life. I had to color my jersey up in Seahawks colors, GO HAWKS! I was really tempted to mask out the number and make it a "12" but it felt like a lot of work for my simple theme!

Next, I made my own patterned paper again using Catherine Pooler inks, and the smaller images from the set. The card felt a little clean for the football theme, so I added some Nuvo drops and smudged them to make it a bit messy. Finally, I used some Stampin' Up layering dies to make my sentiment pop out a bit but added some more Nuvo smudges so it wasn't too clean.

My last card is a tribute to my big brother who is currently battling colon cancer. This set is called Give Cancer a Beat Down, it is an awesome set. I chose to color the ribbon blue, as that's the symbol for colon cancer. The gloves I colored in red and gold, as his favorite super hero is Iron Man. 

I sponged Catherine Pooler inks onto a DecoArt stencil that reminds me of a circuit board since he's a big techie. The sentiment is heat embossed with Stampin Up ink in Cherry Cobbler. Last, I layered the card face on shiny gold paper, then a nice royal blue paper.

The Next Space Explorers!

Guys... guys... GUYS! I am SO excited to share these projects! Kindred Stamps released their new set The Next Space Explorers stamps on May 25th, and to say that I geeked out a lot!

I had so much fun coloring these guys using the no-line technique and Ink On 3's Fade-Out ink, and Copic markers. 

I started by making my first foiled card! I was so nervous that I was going to screw things up. I used Altenew's Warp Speed Stencil that I picked up at Crafty Doodle Chick, DecoFoil's glue pen, and red foil. 

I also tried out my Tonic Studio's Silver Mica spray to create the middle layer of paper for my card, and the sentiment is stamped on a piece too!

My android and blind dude are totally best friends and there for each other through everything!

Next, the Captain is a fan of Earl Grey tea and to me it felt perfect for a gift card holder (some lucky nerd is going to get a Starbucks gift card with it!)

I got him colored up and mounted him on piece of patterned paper from the Sunny Studios Rainbow Bright pack, again from Craft Doodle Chick!

I finished him off by giving him a little shadow with a grey watercolor marker. 

My last card is the chief security officer... He was a little more difficult for me to color, and it shows. But I tried my best, and used the colors I had! I will say, I am pleased with the silvery look of his weapon and sash!

To keep him the hero of the card but not have him too dull, I used the new paper stack that one of the gals in the Kindred Stamps Fan Club shared, and I clearly needed, Echo Park's Space Academy! I grabbed my previously unused Stampin' Up Starbust die (seriously, I've had it for like two years guys...) and cut my patterned paper with it and backed it with dimensionals. I mounted it on a piece of black cardstock.

My last touch was grabbing a random banner I had in my hoarding stash... I may need actual help guys... to use for the sentiment. I love the buildable sentiments that Kindred Stamps does and this one may be one of my favorites! I finished it off with a nice DoublClick Skittle that pulls out the red planets on the paper.
