A Bit of Magic!

Have you ever been stupidly excited for something, then when it arrives you don't know what to do with it?

That's what the Magical Alphabet from Kindred Stamps had me feeling. I told my best friend that I wanted to make something "obnoxious and amazing" with it. I came up with this!

I knew I wanted to use the alphabet to create "Yasss" which is something I will use typing on Facebook when I get excited, but honestly don't actually saw.  Using my Chameleon Pens and their Color Top counterparts to color my letters and the extra embellishments. Then hit the little magical bits with a clear Wink of Stella.

I went with a mix of the new Kindred Stamps Unicorn Poop and Unicorn Farts Shaker Packs... this stuff is SO fun. There is such a unique blend of glitter, sequins, and other magical items. The star design in the center Stampin' Up's star framelit die cut, I used Stampin' Up's White Shimmer paper (this may be retired) to create a clean background. Then grabbed just a random large piece of pinkish paper from my scraps pile.  I went with an Orange BrazzilBasics Cardstock for the card base.

Finally, I grabbed the Magical Unicorn stamps from my stash, Kindred Stamps for the win!  I colored it with my Copic Atyou Spica Glitter Pens.  I knew I didn't want to leave it white, so I went with the turquoise for the body, then went with every single colorful pen I could find for the hair.

I am so pleased with how this card turned out and can't wait to find the perfect person to give it to!

Happy Birthday To The Daggs

Hi friends! I have some fun things to share with you today.  Along with an amazing release for Kindred Stamps, my best friends are celebrating their birthdays.

I, of course, had to take the stamps for this release, to make a birthday card for Molly! She is the best friend a girl could ask for and I appreciate her beyond words. For her card, I chose to use the new "Bears with Feelings" set that is being released on Friday with Kindred Stamps.

I chose colors and belly images to represent BFF Bear and Tenderheart from the iconic Care Bears! To color each of the bears,  I pulled out all the markers I had in the colors the bears are. I did a lot of layering with the colors and it took a few passes of the marker to get them just right.

For the bellies, I did a little shading with light greys to add to the depth, then I colored the symbols. I finished with clear Wink of Stella to make the Bears with Feelings sparkle!

My background is some retired Stampin' Up DSP covered by an awesome Clarity Cloud Stencil and BoBunny glitter paste to add depth and create the fun glittery clouds. It's definitely not perfect, but I have never done any sort of layering with the glitter paste. It was a mess (that I just remembered I still need to clean up! Oops!) but I love how it turned out and it was so much fun!

Next, I took a cloud from a retired CTMH set and stamped one of the building your own sentiments from the Bears with Feelings set. I used a Distress Oxide stamp set, then I took my silver Wink of Stella and outlined the cloud to make it not such a stark comparison to the glitter clouds.  The silver stars are from a previous Stampin' Up My Paper Pumpkin kit.  I tend to be a bit of a hoarder of kits, I rarely build the cards or projects, and save the wonderful bits to use in projects later on.

I finished the card off with some fun DoubleClick Skittles probably my favorite embellishment if we are being honest! I echoed the glitter paste colors and added a yellow in there just for fun!

I hope you enjoy this card as much as I loved making it for my BFF's b-day! Happy birthday sweet Molly, I can't wait to celebrate many more with you!

The next card I had to make was for Molly's awesome hubby, Evan. I knew for weeks I wanted to use the "Time Traveler" for him as he enjoys Dr. Who!

I had so much fun creating a watercolor background. It was my first attempt, but definitely not my last at the popular Galaxy Watercolor Background that people are loving... I blame Suzanne Babb-Moore for my obsessions, for weeks she's been posting these wonderful creations.

I finally signed up for the class shes's taken myself so I can learn how to make my backgrounds look like the night sky, but I didn't have time to work on the lessons before I needed to make the card so this is my starting point of my journey!

The Weeping Angels, if you don't know the story, can only move if they're not being watched. Hence the "don't blink" part of the sentiment.  I colored her with Copics and some old Stampin' Up Blendabilities to create two different yet similar shades of grey.

The Dr, I chose to fashion after the 11th Dr with his cool fez and bowtie. He is colored entirely with copics, I used a glue dot to place his bowtie and the sonic screwdriver.

The ever amazing Tardis also was colored using Copics. Again all 3 awesome images were blended and shaded a ton. I tried to make sure they all had the "light" shining down on them the same way.

The finished card makes me giddy! I think it may be one of my best cards yet, not to toot my horn too loudly! Watching Evan's face as he saw it was awesome.

I don't often manage to make birthday cards for those I love, but I was so glad I was able to for them. They're some of the best people I know and I am blessed to have them in my life.

So... now that I'm done being sappy... If YOU need some of these amazing stamps, go grab them at Kindred Stamps and use my coupon code "RWinn10" for 10% one purchase!
